My name is Errol Kane, and I have been a certified surfing instructor in Honolulu, HI, since 1998. My love for surfing started at a young age. Being born and raised in Hawaii, surfing was a way of life for me. It wasn't just a sport but a way to connect with nature and the ocean. The feeling of being on a wave is indescribable and addicting. It's like riding a rollercoaster, but you must work with the wave to keep the ride going. I have surfed all over the world, but there is nothing like surfing in Hawaii. The waves, the scenery, and the people make it a special experience every time. That's why I started Hawaii Hot Spots Surf School.
Growing up in Hawaii, my experience taught me to respect the ocean and understand its power. Safety has always been my top priority, especially since my family has a background in law enforcement. I take the responsibility of teaching others how to surf very seriously. It's not just about standing up on a board. It's about understanding the ocean and knowing how to stay safe. I review safety procedures before each lesson and emphasize the importance of staying aware of your surroundings. It's important to know your limits and not push yourself too hard. Surfing can be dangerous, but with the right knowledge and precautions, it can also be a safe and enjoyable experience.
As a surfing instructor, I have enjoyed teaching people of all ages and skill levels. Seeing someone catch their first wave and experience the thrill of surfing is always rewarding. Surfing has taught me so much about myself and the world around me. It's a humbling experience to be a part of something so much bigger than yourself.
